The Possession Experiment delivers a reality twist on the Exorcism genre
I feel like we’ve seen it all when it comes to exorcism in horror movies, but it seems like The Possession Experiment has a different – and very trendy – reality angle on it.
The plot:
A theology student undergoes an exorcism as a way of investigating a multiple homicide/suicide
Of course, in order to do anything these days, you need cash to get started, and so the theology student starts a crowdfunding campaign to raise enough money for the project. Again, plugging into something very current, which many will be able to relate to.
The Possession Experiment is directed by Scott B. Hansen (Camera Operator on Texas Chainsaw 3D), who also co-wrote the script with Mary Dixon.
Chris Minor, Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Jake Brinn, Nicky Jasper, and Rachel Faulkner star in the movie.
It has yet to receive a release date. However, according to their Facebook page, they’re going for an October 2016 release date, which would be perfect for the horror month of Halloween.
